The institute has earns a name for quality education. This is due to efforts and devotion of well qualified faculty of the institution. The academic calendar is notified in the beginning and is slickly adhered to. Student’s attendance is compulsory and short fall is notified. It is expected of every student that he/she should conduct himself/ herself with discipline, decency, and dignity both inside and outside the campus. The institute sends progress reports of the students to their parents periodically with a view to keep them inform.
Student counseling is a distinguished featured of the institute. Each faculty member is assigned about 7 students. Periodical meeting are held with group members, their academic performance is evaluated and necessary guidance given to rectify the shortcomings. Through discussions, students are encouraged to discuss their problem also and faculty members are advice to offer assistance for such problem without undue intrusion in the personal affairs of the students.
The institute makes use of an appropriate mix of pedagogical tools to train students to handle professional responsibility. These includes lectures by an appropriate mix of in-house and visiting faculty, expert lectures, discussion, seminars, project assignment and visits to industries and projects sites. Continuous evaluation and counseling are important parts of the academic programme.
DCFSE has provided for a credit based assignment system. It is devised to motivate students for systematic and continuous study. Moreover assignment and project works are given great importance and continuously assessed. There is weekly test as well as monthly tests for theory subjects.
Special attention is given to develop English language and communication skills in the students. Supplementary courses that promote self development and societal and environmental awareness are also being offered. For talented by talented and motivated students, there is a provision of audit courses.
